After a very exciting jump off, Elenor and Wilhelm Genn were the fastest of 8 in the jump off!

This pair also finished 6th (double clean) in the $30,000 Grand Prix of Minnesota

St. Louis National Charity Horse Show

As the summer season winds down, its time for an update on Blue Gate Farm's horses and their success.

We spent the last two weeks in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Quick King Z competed in his first Welcome Stake (Week 1) successfully with only one unlucky rail coming down. He improved by WINNING the 7/8 year old class WK 2.

Lillifee continued her training by successfully competing in the Training Jumpers. She is proving to be a top Grand Prix prospect for the future! "Lilli" is offered for sale so Contact Us.

Our newest addition, Corsavita, proved to be a good match with Denise Wilson by claiming the Championship in the 1.20m jumpers their first week together and following that up with a WIN in the High Jr/AO Jumper Classic the second week!

Not to be outdone, For Elenor showed her incredible talent by jumping the Grand Prix both weeks double clean and placing 5th and 4th respectively.

We are off to Showplace Fall Finals at the Lamplight Equestrian Center next week.

Ledges Summer Classic

The Blue Gate Farm team is back from a great two weeks spent at Ledges!

For Elenor once again showed her quality and consistency by WINNING the $10,000 Hall of Fame Jr/AO Classic the first week and followed it up by a 3rd place finish in the same class the second week!

Quick King Z placed an impressive 5th in the $5,000 Low Jr/AO Classic the first week and the second week jumped a CLEAR ROUND in the $10,000 Hall of Fame High JR/AO Classic!

Our horse, Copyright 3, made his debut into the open jumpers with a 5th place in the $10,000 Welcome Stake the first week and a great 12th place finish in his first $25,000 Grand Prix with rider Wilhelm Genn!

Lillifee and Rockwell were super stars jumping multiple clear rounds in the Training Jumpers.

We had a nice long break after Winter Circuit so the horses could rest and we came back with a bang during Ledges Spring in Roscoe, IL!

For Elenor jumped to a 2nd PLACE in the $10,000 High Jr/AO Classic and a 4th PLACE in the $25,000 Grand Prix!

Quick King Z showed his consistency with a 3rd place in the $5,000 Low Jr/AO Classic the first week and an impressive 2nd place finish in the $5,000 Low Jr/AO Classic the second week!

Lillifee and Rockwell continued to show their potential in the Training Jumper Classes.

Breeding season is here and Blue Gate welcomes two new COLTS!

Our mare "Anna" had a beautiful bay colt by our very own stallion, Chapultepec.

And our second colt of the year, For Phoenix BG, was born shortly after. "Phoenix" was our first embryo transfer from our Grand Prix mare, For Elenor, by famous VDL stallion Emilion.

We have high hopes for this gorgeous colt who looks JUST like his mother!

Winter Circuit

Hello!

As our Winter Circuit comes to an end we would like to update everyone on how our horses have done. We traveled to Jacksonville, FL first, then on to Gulfport, MS and ended in Katy, TX.

For Elenor had a BREAKOUT circuit competing in her first GRAND PRIX in Jacksonville, FL jumping clear and placing 9th! She went on to compete in three more Prixs in Gulfport with a 6th and 12th place finish. In Houston she jumped clear round after clear round in the 1.40m High Jr/AO Jumpers with two 2nd place finishes (over three weeks) in the High Jr/AO Classics.

Quick King Z also had a great winter season including a WIN in the Low Jr/AO Classic in Jacksonville, FL and an amazing Reserve Champion in the High Jr/AO Jumpers with a 3rd place in his first High Jr/AO Classic! He was in top ribbons throughout the rest of the circuit in the Jr/AO Jumpers.

Rockwell made his debut in the hunter ring with top 3 placings including a Championship in the schooling hunters. He went back to the jumper ring in Gulfport successfully in the 1.10m and competed in the hunters in Houston with top 6 placings in very good company. He is a WONDERFUL young horse and is looking for his new home. Contact Us today to inquire about his price!

We welcomed a new addition, Lillifee, during Gulfport and are extremely excited for this new grand prix prospect we have added to our string.

Hello Everyone,
We had one week of St. Louis in November to keep everyone's mind on our job. Highlights were:
Almatino - winner High Jr/AO
Copyright 3- Competed in his first grand prix successfully!
Rockwell - his first show in the U.S.- he showed what a great addition he was to our sales line up! Jumped all rounds double clean in the level 2 and 3. Don't miss your chance on this wonderful gelding.

In other exciting news, our new broodmare Espersica (Landfrieden X Almeo), the mother of our colt Ra, was imported with her 2008 filly by Linton! Check the Nursery for pictures and more information.

Forgive me for not keeping up this summer. As fall starts I realized I should probably fill you in on our successful summer. Some highlights have been:

Copyright 3 - 3rd in the $10k Low Jr/AO Classic - Equifest
1st in the $2500 High Jr/AO Classic - St Louis
4th in the $10k High Jr/AO Classic - Showplace Fall Classic

For Elenor - 1st in the $2500 Low Jr/AO Classic - St Louis
5th in the $10k High Jr/AO Classic (her first one!) - Showplace Fall Classic

Quick King Z - Started the High Jr/AO Jumpers with a double clear round! Unfortunately could not compete at the Showplace Fall Classic due to a high nail. He will be back soon!

Life is Life 15 - 2nd in the $10,000 High Jr/AO Classic - Equifest

Almatino 3 - Champion out of 35 in the Jr/AO Jumpers at Showplace Fall Festival.

We are off until November, giving the horses a nice long break until we head off to one week in St Louis, MO. Chapultepec is back so he will go with us as well.

Even more exciting news, Blue Gate Farm welcomes the newest addition "Rocky", a 5 year old gelding imported September 24th. "Rocky" jumped the 1.20m in Europe successfully and is an overall great junior/amateur horse. Wonderful attitude, quiet and fun! He is available for sale, get him quick before you miss your chance!

Doralise BG

Welina gave birth to a beautiful bay filly on July 5th, 2008 at 10 PM. She has two white socks and a cute little head. We are very excited to welcome "Dora" into the family! She is by the stallion VDL Douglas (Darco X Capitol) out of our own Welina (Tangelo X Calvados). We will put more updates and pictures soon!

After the foal is weaned Welina will be back in training and for sale.

The 2nd week of Ledges went well. Denise and Life is Life 15 placed 3rd out of 24 in the $25,000 Grand Prix!

Quick King Z also posted a great double clear in his very first classic to place 1oth out of 20+ in the $5000 Low Jr/AO Classic

Blue Gate Farm would also like to congratulate Kate Reuters (a fellow Wisconsin-er) on her win in the Grand Prix with her stallion Online!

We would also like to congratulate Liza MacMillan and Fair Haven Farm on their purchase of the wonderful young horse, Da Vinci! Hope you have as much fun as we did with him.

Ledges - Week 1

We just finished a fabulous week in Roscoe, IL at Ledges.

Blue Gate's Da Vinci jumped two beautiful rounds in the Level 2 and High Training Jumper (he placed 4th) continuing to show what an exceptional young horse he is.

Almatino 3 had a winning weekend when he topped a field of 17 to win the $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame High Jr/AO Jumper Classic.

Life is Life 15 placed 8th in the $10,000 Welcome Stake and posted a double clear to place 4th in the $25,000 Candlelight Grand Prix.

And last but certainly not least, Quick King Z jumped two beautiful clear rounds and placed 8th and 2nd respectively out of 20+ competitors in the Level 6 Jr/AO Jumpers.

Our mare For Elenor is currently at the clinic being bred to VDL Emilion for an embryo transfer for 2009. Tecmessa also is confirmed pregnant to our very own Chapultepec (ChinChin).

Hello again -

It has been awhile. I never updated about Houston, but all went well there with the horses keeping consistent and winning top placings.

We just finished up two weeks in St. Louis, MO.
Highlights:
Chapultepec won the $5000 Level 5 Classic the first week and continued on to win a Jr/AO Class and place 2nd in the $5000 High Jr/AO Classic the second week.
Almatino 3 was Level 4 Champion the first week and won a High Jr/AO Class during Week 2.
Life is Life 15 placed 3rd in the Welcome Stake and 8th in the $15,000 Grand Prix (one time fault kept him from the jump off) during the 2nd week. He posted a nice double clear in the $25,000 Grand Prix to place 7th during week 2.

Weeks 4 & 5 in Gulfport, MS

Our last two weeks at the Gulf Coast Winter Series turned out to match the first three with amazing results yet again. Chapultepec pulled in top ribbons in the Low Jr/AO's consistently and was named Circuit Champion yesterday. For Elenor jumped multiple clear rounds and notable was 4th and 5th during the two weeks in the Low Jr/AO Classic respectively.
Quick King Z jumped four clear rounds in the Training Level 5 Jumpers while our top prospect Da Vinci continued to jump clear in the Level 2 and Tecmessa in the Level 4.

But what was most exciting was Denise and Life is Life 15 returned to the Grand Prix's with out standing results. Week 4 brought a 6th place in the $10,000 Welcome Stake and a 9th place in the $25,000 Grand Prix. Week 5 came out even better with a 7th place in the $25,000 Welcome Prix and a 6th place in the Sunday $25,000 Grand Prix.

On to Houston, TX now for the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. Keep checking back for updates and results.

Gulfport Weeks 2 & 3

Ending our 3rd week in Gulfport, we have even more good news to report. During week 2 Chapultepec kept his winning ways placing 2nd during the weekend and claiming the win in the $2777 Low Jr/AO Classic on Sunday out of a field of 30. He wasn't our only winner. Life is Life 15 returned from a week off and competed in the High Jr/AO Jumpers placing 2nd on Saturday and winning with the only double clear round in the $7777 High Jr/AO Classic.
Almatino 3 also came in with a win on Saturday in the High Jr/AOs.

The 3rd week was also memorable with Denise and Life is Life 15 placing 3rd in the $9777 Open Jumper Welcome Stake out of a field of 38 and also placing just ouf of the money in 13th place with a 4 fault round in the $25,000 Nutrena Grand Prix out of a large field of 42 starters. With only their 3rd prix under their belt, Denise and "Riley" look like they have a good future partnership ahead.
Also during week 3, For Elenor, our upcoming 7 y/o mare, showed her talent and scope when she placed 2nd out of 32 in the $2777 Low Jr/AO Jumper Classic.
Quick King Z made his debut in the Open Level 5 jumpers and our young prospect Da Vinci cantered around the Level 2 training jumpers. Da Vinci is offered for sale, contact us today about this amazing prospect.

First Week in Mississippi

We arrived last week in Gulfport, MS for our 5 week stay for winter circuit. The horses adapted well and came back with great results once again. Chapultepec was first and second in the Low Jr/AO's and Almatino 3 was first in the High Jr/AO class with a 3rd place in the High Classic.

Life is Life 15 (or "Riley") was unable to compete last week do to an unfortunate cut that needed staples but he will be ready to start back up this week in the High Jr/AO's as long as the weather holds up.

Jacksonville Ends on a Great Note

Greetings from warm Florida. We are lucky to be down south considering blizzard after blizzard is hitting Wisconsin.

We wrapped up 3 weeks in Jacksonville, FL and are now in Gulfport, MS. Jacksonville turned out to be a very successful series. Blue Gate Farm's Chapultepec won the Low Jr/AO Jumper Classic during Week 2 beating out 22 other competitors as well as placing 1st and 2nd during Week 3 and ending up Reserve Champion of the Low Jr/AO's. Also noted, our 7 year old mare For Elenor had a no rail week and ended up 3rd in the Low Jr/AO Classic during Week 3 as well.

Not to be outdone by his stablemate, our 7 year old Quick King Z had a great week in the level 4's with 3 clear rounds. We are proud to say he is developing quite nicely.

Almatino 3 was a force to reckon with in the High Jr/AO's winning during the week and placing the 2nd in the Classic on Sunday.

Ending the series on a high note Denise and her new mount Life is Life 15 put on a spectacular performance in Saturday nights $25,000 Grand Prix. They ended up 4th behind her trainer Wilhelm Genn as well as respected Grand Prix riders Bill Lowry and Chuck Waters. Denise and "Riley" posted a double clear score to secure their place out of the 11 horse-rider combination jump off. This new partnership is off to a great start.
